MARTA TO PARTICIPATE IN SUPER BOWL PREPAREDNESS MEDIA EVENT
The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) will participate in a Super Bowl preparedness media event this Friday, Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms will kick off the media event that features two panels of guests who will speak to the readiness of the city of Atlanta for the world’s largest sporting event.
MARTA General Manager & CEO Jeffrey Parker will participate in a panel with Atlanta Police Department Chief Erika Shields, Atlanta Fire Department Chief Randall Slaughter, Commissioner of Public Works James Jackson, and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport General Manager John Selden to discuss how Atlanta is preparing to host Super Bowl 53 as we mark 100 days until the game.
Mr. Parker will discuss how MARTA is preparing for an influx of tens of thousands of patrons, both first-time and regular riders. He will also announce the Authority’s service plan for the weekend of the game and share a photo of the specially designed Breeze card MARTA is offering to commemorate the event.
In addition to the city readiness panel, the media event this Friday will feature a stadium readiness panel that includes President of AMB Sports & Entertainment Rich McKay, AMB Group CEO Steve Cannon, Vice President of AMBSE Security Joe Coomer, and the General Manager of Mercedes-Benz Stadium Scott Jenkins.
Organizers of the panel discussions are expecting approximately 200 guests consisting of members of the media, leadership from the Super Bowl Host Committee and Georgia World Congress Center, as well as representatives from the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau and Chamber of Commerce.
A media question and answer period with panelists and other members of the participating agencies will follow the panel discussions.
