MARTA & MIDTOWN ALLIANCE PARTNER TO ENHANCE MIDTOWN STATION
The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) and Midtown Alliance held a ribbon-cutting recently to dedicate enhancements made to Midtown Station.
Through a partnership with Midtown Alliance, MARTA’s Artbound program commissioned a mural to be painted on the station façade by local artist Andrew Catanese. Other enhancements include astro-mound seating on the plaza, and a busking platform for musicians.
“The Midtown district, considered Atlanta’s heart of the arts, has grown significantly because of the access to MARTA bus and rail. This partnership has created a new destination experience for the tens of thousands of riders who come through Midtown Station each week,” said MARTA General Manager & CEO Jeffrey Parker.
Mr. Parker, Midtown Alliance President and CEO Kevin Green, Mr. Catanese, and others who made the enhancements a reality gathered at Midtown Station to celebrate.
