Georgia Gives Day is November 12, 2015
By George Burgan, Director of Communications, Atlanta Neighborhood Development Partnership, Inc.
One month from today, the Georgia Center for Nonprofits and its partners will launch Georgia Gives Day 2015. This special day of giving, now in its fourth year, is vital for nonprofit resource development and an important opportunity to learn about the many organizations engaged in community service throughout Georgia.
At Atlanta Neighborhood Development Partnership (ANDP), we feel strongly that Georgia Gives Day is an incredible opportunity to leverage support and increase awareness of our affordable housing mission – and we suspect it is equally important to hundreds of nonprofits from Valdosta to Young Harris.
In the first three years of the event, ANDP has raised more than $31,000 and tripled the number of annual individual donors! Support from Georgia Gives Day enables ANDP to continue serving veterans with affordable housing options, supporting communities struggling with underwater homeowners, and maintaining nearly 250 units of affordable rental units. And it introduces new supporters to the organization.
(Block Quote) “Since the inaugural event in 2012, Georgia Gives Day has brought nearly 30,000 donors to more than 2,000 participating organizations, raising more than $5.1 million to support the nonprofits’ individual causes. Donors can give directly to nonprofits on Georgia Gives Day—or any day of the year—by searching for and selecting an organization, cause or locale on GAgives.org.”
Communities throughout metro Atlanta and Georgia have families in need of assistance, animals in need of care, trees to be planted, rivers to be cleaned, green space to be preserved, and more. When we all come together to lend a hand, we help our nonprofits strengthen our communities.
If you don’t already have a favorite nonprofit, visit www.GAgives.org to find one and lend them you support on November 12.
