Metro Atlanta Chamber Takes Flight
Soaring to new heights and making way for progress, the Metro Atlanta Chamber moved their headquarters to 191 Peachtree Tower to support the expansion of Centennial Olympic Park. In collaboration with partners across the region, they continue their work to move Atlanta forward. The opening of the new headquarters is a reflection of the dedication of so many in support of their continued work.
During a grand opening celebration last week, MAC hosted a number of community leaders who have had a significant impact in moving the region forward. Toasting the new space during the official ribbon cutting ceremony, Gov. Nathan Deal and Mayor Kasim Reed made remarks to the business community and MAC members. Later in the day, Ambassador Andrew Young discussed his work with the local business community and Martin Luther King during the Civil Rights Movement along with other vehicles that have driven not only Atlanta, but the nation, forward. This discussion was also available through Facebook Live on MAC’s Facebook page.
With MAC’s new workforce environment and technology, the office space represents a progressive workforce culture that will accommodate everyone, including the millennial talent coming from metro Atlanta’s renowned colleges and universities.
MAC’s bird’s eye view at their new home allows them to look toward our 29-county region, celebrate the progress they have made, and pave the way for future success. Atlanta has an incredible story of growth to share, and MAC has a unique opportunity to shape that narrative.
Like the phoenix represented in MAC’s new logo, Atlanta is a city of hope, promise, and progress. Building on this, MAC’s strategic plan represents plans to grow, advocate, and promote the region:
- GROW: Georgia continues to be the #1 state for doing business. Therefore, recruiting new companies, retaining the current roster of businesses, and helping existing businesses expand are a part of MAC’s strategy to continue to grow the region into a global competitor, particularly in key focus areas, including FinTech, cyber security, IoT, Smart Cities, and global health.
- ADVOCATE: MAC will continue their efforts to ensure metro Atlanta can attract a 21st-century workforce, foster a high quality of life, lift those in need, and ultimately move the region forward. MAC will also continue to support organizations like Georgia Prospers and oppose legislation that does not cultivate a business-friendly climate.
- PROMOTE: Metro Atlanta has many unique stories to tell. Through initiatives like ChooseATL, social enterprises, sporting events, and lifestyle branding (including the region’s rich diversity of neighborhoods), MAC is marketing those distinct stories to attract and retain talent to define Atlanta as a global market and top tier competitor.
For over a century and a half, the Metro Atlanta Chamber has worked to successfully drive positive, fundamental change and sustain real economic growth in metro Atlanta and across Georgia. With their new home, MAC is able to build on this momentum to continue to move the region forward.
