Uplifting the Invisible Class
By John Hope Bryant, Founder, Chairman, and CEO, Operation HOPE, Inc.
In just a few weeks, Operation HOPE will host the 2017 HOPE Global Forum here in Atlanta. Now the largest and most prominent gathering of global thought leaders and influencers focused exclusively on financial inclusion and the empowerment of the poor, this year’s Forum (April 10-12) will reconvene under the theme: “Uplifting The Invisible Class.”
Confirmed speakers include Former Mexican president Vicente Fox; MasterCard CEO Ajay Banga; PayPal Co-Founder and Founder and CEO of Affirm, Max Levchin; MSNBC President Phil Griffin; Newsmax CEO Chris Ruddy; Arianna Huffington, Founder and CEO, Thrive Global; Gallup CEO Jim Clifton; and Tony Schwartz, CEO, The Energy Project. These leaders will headline the banner event that will challenge over 3,200 delegates from more than 25 countries to outline a vision for a new, global economy—where the poor, underserved and dislocated middle class are viewed as untapped assets for entrepreneurship, job creation and economic growth. Participants will generate “5 Big Ideas” around each critical Working Group topic that will serve as a blueprint for action beyond the Forum.
The Forum will be broadcast and streamed online by our media partner, NBC News, and covered by prominent networks, including, CNBC and Telemundo. Many thanks to our dedicated partners and sponsors for their ongoing support to ensure the success of this essential space for idea and action generation to serve the underserved.

About Financial Inclusion
Operation HOPE, Inc., powers the broadest financial inclusion network in the country. Through strategic partnerships with organizations like SunTrust Banks, Wells Fargo, and Coca-Cola, the nonprofit is making free enterprise accessible to all by equipping youth and adults with the financial training and tools to realize their aspirations and ensure their financial wellbeing. Through its core programs, Operation HOPE has provided financial dignity and economic empowerment to over 2.6 million individuals worldwide, and $2 billion in economic activity for the disenfranchised—turning check cashing customers into banking customers, renters into homeowners, small business dreamers into small business owners, and minimum wage workers into living wage consumers. Project 5117 is the organization’s multi-year four-pronged approach to combating economic inequality that aims to improve financial literacy, increase business role models and business internships for youth, and stabilize the American dream by boosting credit scores. The Atlanta Uplift 2020 initiative will escalate the organization’s services throughout the city to strengthen low- and middle-income families. For more information: www.OperationHOPE.org
